ITINERARY
We will meet you at 6.30am at our office in Thamel (or in Pokhara on request) to then catch the bus at 7am where we will drive for approx 3.5 hours to Chauraudi our starting point. From here our guides will spring into action, unloading the bus and getting the rafting gear ready. Every one will be given a life jacket, helmet and paddle. You will be able to change into your river clothes and have a quick cup of tea before the adventure begins.
We then head to the river for our detailed safety briefing. We will enjoy a fantastic day of rafting and a picnic lunch on an unspoiled beach. Big, bouncy, splashy fun! Just after lunch you will be greeted by the 8 main rapids of the river…’Ladies Delight, Monsoon, Landslide, Upset 1, Upset 2, Butterfly, Bezuli, and Surprise’. Make sure your your holding on because these are big bouncy rapids! We will raft 20km through the valley. The river is wide and there are opportunities to spot monkeys playing on the banks as we travel down. We will pass local fisherman and children walking to school as they shout ‘bye bye’ to the passing raft. For those brave enough, just before we reach our camp, there is a 10ft cliff jump which for many is a highlight.
We will then pull up to our camp, where you will be welcomed with a hot coco, camp fire and pop corn whilst the guides rustle you up a treat for your dinner. You’ll be able to change in one of our bamboo huts and relax by our swimming pool. Enjoy the evening at our river side camp star gazing and enjoying the campfire. Our raft guides magically convert into musicians and often play traditional Nepali music around the campfire.
Or if you are just doing a DAY TRIP then we can drive you on to Kathmandu, Chitwan or Pokhara where you will arrive approximately 7pm.
If you’ve opted for our two day option we raft for the morning before pulling out of the river and having lunch. The river is a bit calmer on the second day, so you can try out kayaking, or even guiding if you wish to learn. Although this section is more relaxing, there are a few rapids worth noting – S Bend being one of them which snakes round the rapid as we pass the famous Manakamana Cable car.
We can then transfer you back to Kathmandu, Pokhara or down to Chitwan. Or spend another night at camp if you wish. There are always options of kayaking and canyoning in the same area.
